Does filling in for the Pajama Parties take kindness alone?

Midori invites Chiikawa and friends to the Pajama Parties. Chiikawa and Hachiware struggle to learn the dance moves and practice. Then Chiikawa and friends appear in the live show as stand-in members.

If someone steps in, the numbers add up. But being able to dance takes separate preparation. Those looking for a stand-in see an empty spot; those taking it on see things to learn. That difference catches my attention.

If we end the story of helping each other with “how kind,” we might skip over what the helpers actually did. Learning the moves, trying them out with your body. Even if the will is there, that work doesn't get done right away.

Not just what to ask for: when will they learn it, and who can they ask when they don't understand? If I asked someone for help, I'd want to think that far ahead. Saying yes to taking it on and being ready are probably two different things.

I think helping each other also needs the person taking it on to be able to decide their own schedule.

The time on stage isn't the only time spent helping. When you include practice, the way you see the one filling in changes.
