Hachiware buys the camera they've been wanting. After some test shots, everyone has a photo shoot together.
It got the camera. Good for it. I love that it doesn't end there. A single purchase creates time for everyone to enjoy together. That's a kind of fun that isn't written on the price tag.
The owner and the ones who enjoy it aren't the same
If you count belongings, what increased is Hachiware's camera. But the fun of the photo shoot reaches its friends too. Looking only at who owns it can't account for everything this purchase added.
That said, using something together is different from it becoming everyone's property. What's shared here seems to be the fun of the photo shoot.
What kind of time do you want money to add?
I wonder how it would be with my own purchases. We may remember how many things we bought, but we tend to forget who we did what with because of them. Even with the same camera, the fun it adds seems different on a day you use it alone and a day you photograph friends.
Beyond whether something is expensive or cheap, we can think about what kind of time lies beyond the purchase. Hachiware's camera reminds me of that.
