One tier looked untouched

This site covered Oh Dear's July repackaging — six plans became eight, every name changed, and lining them up by site count showed monthly rises of 78% to 98%.

One tier looked like the exception.

The old Mini gave five sites for €15 a month. The new Solo gives two sites for €15 a month. The monthly price did not move by a cent. What moved was the site count, from five down to two.

What that article said was that anyone watching three sites was pushed to the next tier — ten sites at €49. The five-site step had ceased to exist, so there was nothing to compute a rise against.

In late August the step came back.

Five sites went from €15 to €29

The new step is called Solo Plus. Five sites, €29 a month.

SitesMonthlyYearly
Mini (to 2026-07)5€15€165
Solo Plus (from 2026-08)5€29€290
Changesame+93%+76%

The comparison holds because Oh Dear's pricing page still carries this line:

Same features, every plan. Pick your size.

Every plan has every feature; the only thing you pick is size. With site count as the sole variable, five sites can be set against five sites even though the name changed. The premise the earlier article relied on is still on the page.

That +93% falls inside the +78% to +98% band observed across every other tier last time. This step was not being treated differently. It just took three weeks for the rise to become readable.

The yearly figure rises less because the free months went from one to two. €165 is eleven months of €15; €290 is ten months of €29. As before, the yearly comparison carries a change in billing terms inside it.

The step returned, but not to where it was

The bottom three tiers now look like this.

PlanSitesMonthlyPer site
Solo2€15€7.50
Solo Plus5€29€5.80
Freelance10€49€4.90

The old Mini gave five sites for €15 — €3.00 per site.

Filling the gap between two and ten is, on its own, more choice for anyone watching three to five sites. In July the only move available was €15 to €49.

But the step that came back is not priced where the one that left was. Watching five sites now costs €29 rather than €15.

A company that announces pricing did not announce this one

Oh Dear publishes a changelog every week. July's repackaging was in it.

24-07-2026 New agency pricing, Laravel Forge API v2, improved Broken Links detection, and stronger security

So this is a company that puts pricing changes in its changelog.

Solo Plus appeared between 20 and 28 August (by this site's own captures). Two changelog entries span that window.

DateHeadlineSize of the entry
21-08-2026Stronger API and MCP access controls, improved notification handling…2 improvements, 2 security, 4 fixes
28-08-2026New MCP tools, consecutive-failure Sitemap alerts, improved Lighthouse checks7 new, 8 improvements, 2 security

The word Solo does not appear in either entry. Neither mentions a new plan. The 28 August entry lists seven new things, down to small additions.

This is a contrast, not an accusation. The same company wrote down a pricing change in July and did not in August. The mechanism for saying so exists.

What could not be established

The exact date is not pinned down. This site's captures show eight plans at 17:15 JST on 20 August 2026 and nine at 12:17 on 28 August. Somewhere in those eight days is as close as it gets. Solo Plus was not compared to the old Mini feature by feature. The pricing page said then, and says now, that every plan has every feature, and that claim is why site count was used as the single axis. The claim itself was verified as still present; the feature lists were not set side by side. Why it was added is unknown. Restoring a removed step and building a new one for a different segment look identical from outside. What happened to existing subscribers is unknown. Whether anyone on Mini or Solo was migrated or left where they were could not be read from published information. The changelog check covered the bodies of the 21 and 28 August entries. Announcement by email, in-app notice, or social channels cannot be ruled out.

All prices were read from Oh Dear's own pricing page. Current figures were taken from both the rendered page and the priceSpecification in the page's embedded JSON-LD, and the two agree. Past figures come from the structured data of the same page as saved by the Internet Archive. Monthly and yearly are stored as separate values, so the two axes are not mixed.

Prices shown are ex. VAT. Yearly billing is offered as "2 months free" and equals ten months of the monthly rate.

July's repackaging is a separate article.
